Meeting on 11th October

What a nice friendly evening. We had a chat about some upcoming events and new ideas for the coming year. After a hefty agenda to attend to Carys had baked us a beautiful cake which went down well with a nice warm cuppa.

Thanks Carys for the cake and for everyone else for your support. It is much appreciated as we cannot help the school without you.

Hi all,
Carys Groves has been appointed as the new Chairperson, with Sandra Jones and Sian Clarke continuing as Secretary and Treasurer. As there is a new Chair of the PTA forward planning for fundraising was not discussed at the last meeting.

Come along to our PTA Meeting on Monday 11th October at the School, 7.30pm. Have a cuppa with some cake and biscuits, it's very informal, friendly and we're always looking for new ideas and input from the parents.

Goodbye Ceri

It is with great sadness that this year we see our long serving Chair, Ceri Robson, step down from the PTA. Ceri has dedicated over 7 years to the PTA and fundraising for the school and her efforts have definitely not gone unnoticed by the school, teachers, parents and children. In 2008 Ceri gave her undivided attention to organising a school ball that raised a whopping £8,000, the most ever raised in the history of the PTA and as a result we were able to donate a large amount to the school which helped with the purchase of the much loved Fort, in the Infants playground.

The members of PTA, Teachers, Assistants and Parents would like to thank Ceri for such a fantastic job and she will be greatly missed.

this years PTA AGM will be on Tuesday 28th September in the SCHOOL. Please arrive at the school office at 7.00pm and get involved with our fundraising schedule for this academic year. Everyone is welcome and we are always looking for new ideas and suggestions to make the fundraising successful.

Year 6 Leavers Prom NIght

Every year our fantastic PTA organise a prom night for the year 6 children who are about to move onto comprehensive school. The children really enjoy it, and have asked me to say a huge thank you to the PTA, they had a ball!!

SCHOOL FETE

The school fete will be on Saturday 10th July and will start at 11.00am. The help of parents is needed to ensure this event is a success. We have plenty of stalls to cover so let any PTA member at the school know you are free or email pontyclunpta@hotmail.co.uk with your details.
We would also be grateful if you could donate items for the stalls this year and the items needed are:-
• Sweet Mugs – mugs filled with sweets and wrapped in film
• Books
• Anything suitable for the Shiny Stall (unused toiletries, perfume manicure sets etc. anything really that can be wrapped in shiny stuff)
• Face Painters
• Bottles of wine
• Tins of food
• Nail Varnish (doesn’t matter if used)
• Bric a Brac

Please bring items into the school office by 6th July.

If anyone would like to have a table at the fete to sell their own products the fee is £10 per table and needs to be booked in advance

Summer Ball

For the Grand Summer Ball taking place this year on 18th June, we have secured an excellent accommodation rate of £65 per room including breakfast at the 4 star Vale Resort.
