Eco Kids
Wednesday, 4 April 2012
We are pleased to inform you that the school has teamed up with the Eco Kids textile recycling project to raise funds for the school .
Eco Kids is a textile recycling project, designed especially for schools. We will receive £600/tonne or £0.60/kg and £50/tonne or £0.05/kg for books, which will give a boost to our fundraising.
Not only are we aiming to generate much needed funds but, we also explain to the pupils about the importance of recycling and demonstrate our school’s commitment to sustainability. It is a fact, albeit a sad one, that over 1 million tons of textile waste is destined for landfill, generating harmful gases. So if we all take a little time to recycle we can have a positive impact environmentally and have a cleaner, healthier planet for our children.
We would very much like you, your family, relatives, friends and your neighbours to become involved.
Here is an opportunity to sort through your cupboards, wardrobes and ...dare we say it... the garage and even ...the loft!
In the Eco Kids bag provided, we kindly ask you to donate:
· Good quality, dry clean clothing
· Soft Toys
· Pairs of shoes
· Handbags
· Books in good reusable condition(in a separate bag or box, please)
· SMALL portable electrical items in good working condition(excluding all TV's)
· Costume Jewellery
· Bric-a-Brac
· Net Curtains
· Bed Linen

PLEASE NOTE:
BRIC-a-BRAC: During the Victorian era, collections of various ornaments were often displayed around the house (collecting dust!!!), such as on the mantle, on shelves, and in decorative curio cabinets. Popular bric-a-brac objects we typically consider knick knacks today include: small vases, figurines, decorative teacups, picture frames, small bowls, trinket dishes and other small ornaments.
SMALL, PORTABLE ELECTRICAL ITEMS (in good working condition). For example: table lamps, toasters, hairdryers, clock radios, can-opener, toothbrush, cd player, coffee grinder, juicer
If you fill the Eco Kids bag and still have lots more items to donate, then any other plastic bag(s) will do!
We have arranged for Eco Kidsto collect from this school,
On: Thursday 26th April Time: By 3.30pm
We would like to take this opportunity to give you and everybody involved, a big, big THANK YOU for supporting us with this eco-friendly fundraising opportunity.
